Age Breakdowns: 0-11 mo., 1 yr., 2 yr., 3-4 yr, 5-7 yr., 8-10 yr., 11-13 yr., 14 and up

Aliceville 2012 MISS MERRY CHRISTMAS Pageant
Friends of the Aliceville Public Library will sponsor the annual MISS MERRY CHRISTMAS PAGEANT on Sunday, November 11th at 2pm in the Aliceville City Hall auditorium. This pageant is held each November to select a group of young ladies that possess the grace, beauty, and elegance deserving of the title Miss Merry Christmas. These girls will serve as representatives of the Friends of the Library organization during the annual Aliceville Christmas Parade festivities. Participant categories are as follows: Wee Miss 2 and 3 yrs old; Tiny Miss 4 - 6yrs old; Little Miss 7 - 9 yrs old; Jr. Miss 10 - 12 yrs old; Teen Miss 13 - 15 yrs old; and Miss Merry Christmas 16 - 18 yrs old. Deadline for entering the pageant is Monday, November 5th at 5pm. The non-refundable entry fee is $30.00 (cash or money order) and must be included with the registration form. Entry forms can be obtained from the Aliceville Public Library, Aliceville State Farm Office, or in the offices of schools throughout Pickens County, and can also be faxed upon request. Advance admission tickets for the Miss Merry Christmas pageant are $5 per adult and $2 for children 12 yrs and under. Tickets can be purchased at the Aliceville Public Library or Aliceville State Farm office. For more information, call Nelda Hudgins at 205-373-6691.

Our Charity for this pageant is the Good Shepard Lutheran Church's food basket
drive for Christmas. A detailed list of items needed will be emailed.
The contestant bringing the most items for the Christmas basket food drive
will be crown the "Charity Angel".
Winners will be eligible to ride in the Gardendale Christmas Parade and
I can help arrange transportation.
$55 Entry Fee + 5 items for the Christmas basket food drive

contestants will be asked to bring 1. baby wipes, 2. black socks, 3. hard candy, 4. individual drink mixes, 5. beef jerky, 6. microwavable popcorn, 7. toiletries, 8. chapstick, and/or 9. protein bars. A charity winner will be crowned by the Blue Star Moms for the contestant who brings the most items.

We are so excited to help the Blue Star Mothers of Morgan County. They were honored at the Spirit of America Festival in Decatur this year and one of their sons was present He had received 5 Purple Hearts. While, I cannot fathom what he has gone through to receive 5 Purple Hearts I am sure it's more than what any of us endure in our daily grind!! Let's really show the Blue Star Mothers of Morgan County the support for our troops!
